The Nook & Gather Co. was born out of layers of memory, heritage, and travel.
Our founder, Neeta Maxen, grew up in Mumbai but often found herself returning to her grandparents’ home in Kerala — one nestled in the middle of a lush estate and one in a well connected city rooted in culture . Those visits left a lasting impression: verandahs that opened to green fields, tiled roofs echoing with monsoon rains, and air heavy with the fragrance of cardamom and spices.
Her family’s holidays and study related travel and professional trips across India and other countries added more textures to this tapestry. Each city and town and people of different cultures introduced her to new climates, flora, fauna, traditions, and rituals. From small Mumbai apartments to palatial Kerala homes and cozy holiday retreats abroad, she discovered that a home’s beauty was never about its size or perfection — it was in the details that carried memory and belonging.
That philosophy became the soul of The Nook & Gather Co. Every collection is shaped by seasons, rituals, and regions, bringing together modern minimalism and traditional charm.
